Safety Notice: Dominion Power issues a notice regarding Dominion-branded night lights

In it’s August 2010 Customer Connection newsletter, Dominion power is encouraging residents with Dominion-branded night lights to discard them because of a potential fire risk.

“Dominion night lights that were given away from 2007-2010 could pose a potential fire risk and should be unplugged and discarded.

About 3,500 of the low-energy night lights were distributed as a gift to promote energy conservation. The company no longer gives away the night lights.

The lights have not been recalled by the manufacturer. Testing duplicated the problem only when the light became wet.”
